Taklai Melissa Li provides therapy and support to families as they journey together out of past traumas toward healthier futures full of promise. Through dyadic therapy, she helps children and their caregivers build healthy emotional bonds. Prior to joining WIN, Melissa provided intensive mental health services for children and youth within the foster care and juvenile justice system.
She also worked in community-based programs to provide mental health services for youth and adults with chronic mental illnesses, complex trauma, domestic and community violence, and substance abuse. She’s passionate about providing culturally-sensitive and accessible care and believes that building genuine relationships empowers families and provides hope.
Her experiences have shown her the importance that attachments have on the entire spectrum of life, and how developing secure attachments early on is crucial to future health, success and life. Melissa received her master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy, with a clinical specialization in Art Therapy, from Loyola Marymount University
